I spend a fair amount of time working with expressions, mostly for linking properties to other layers and driving animation from fewer keyframes. (It can save time when I ultimately have to retime animations or reuse them in different ways.) One thing that’s always bothered my about expressions is not being able to share variables between properties. Sure there are workarounds like using expressi…
I was trying to figure out how to set global variables on a comp so I could reuse the comp on another project, tweak the comp's variable and have it dynamically render in the new project with the new value. But as far as I can tell, it can't be done - any ideas? (See here: http://video.stackexchange.com/questions/10290/set-variables-on-imported-comp)
@JoshMcCullough Closest I can give is to set up a comp with nothing but an adjustment layer or null and expression controls (or a text layer for controlling text) on it, then point your expressions to those. This will act as a pseudo-global variable container.
