Last night on MoChat we talked about organizing both our physical workspaces and digital file-keeping. A lot of people admitted they were pretty disorganized on their desk, but took better care of their digital files. Two of the biggest problems facing people on their desk were papers and cord clutter. On the paper front, suggestions included keeping a notebook and using folders/binders for loose papers. Cable management had some interesting solutions including throwing them in a drawer, using a cable organizer, binder clips, or a pegboard with zip-ties.
On the digital front, Post Haste came up a few times to set up projects & folder system, or manually setting up the same. The AE script Folder Setup is another option. Jing is an interesting solution for taking digital notes on screen captures & video. Adobe Anywhere looks promising to many, but we have to wait for pricing. And never label anything “Final”.
